How strong is the wind?

here in upstate ny the weather can change on a dime and last week was no different. the wind came in and it was whistling thru the house. i didn't think much of it looked around the yard to make sure everything was ok and didn't see anything, even when i left i didn't see anything, maybe because i was busy getting Kenzie in the car, but then when i came home i noticed that a tree had fallen in the back yard and had landed on the fence. i finally got around to taking some pictures so here they are. ok so i guess i cant figure out how to put the pictures below so you got to see them first,

Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet

Cake to celebrate the banquet, which for those that do not have boys or have never been involved in Cub Scouts, the Blue & Gold is celebrating the birthday of cub scouts.
Activity of the night was making origami boats that are going to be used in the Primary Activity on Saturday. There is Dustin straight ahead.

The lady in the uniform talking to us is Dana, she is the cubmaster and one of my real great friends.

This bridge represents the scouts crossing over when they turn 11 and move into the boy scout troop. To Kenzie it represents a play toy.

This has nothing to do with the cub scouts i just thought it was cute. As you can see in both pictures of Kenzie, she has not tights, socks or shoes on. That is because i ran out of the juice i usually give her, Motts for Tots, cause it is less sugar and it doesnt really bother her. well i stopped at the local dollare general on the way to work and just grabbed some apple juice and i did not diluate it and i am paying for it. she had diaherra right before we left but i didnt think much of it then while we were there she had some more which came out and affected her tights and underpants and such so it was down to just a diaper and dress. (the shoes didnt go back on cause i was tired and didnt want to fight) but then the worse part is a lady from our church, Jennie, who works in the baby unit at the hospital and was actually there for Kenzie's birth, was playing with her, which is funny cause Kenzie does not like her for some reason, we always joke that she thinks Jennie was the one who poked her when she first came out and she remembers. anyway so Jennie was playing with her and Kenzie was letting her and they were giggling and Jennie was chasing her and then would pick her up and then let her go and repeat, well one time when she did it, the diaper exploded again and since there was nothing there but diaper it went onto Jennie. It was a moment we could laugh at, good thing i have such good friends. as a side note it was not horrible, she realized it before it was to late, put Kenzie down and was able to wash off with no problem.
Ok so that was my Wednesday.

Homework over Vacation?

Can you believe my teacher gave me homework over break? Anyway i thought i would let Kenzie do it for me, i sure hope she gets them all right.

I have to take a nap after doing all that homework, now be quiet so i can get some sleep, how about turning off the light.

Day 5 of Vacation

Look at me i can play the WiiFit
I am doing the Hula Hoop, in case you can't tell

Get off Dustin, it is my turn to play again.
So the last day of vacation ended with Dustin and Michele challenging each other in the Wii Fit, the hardest part is trying to get Kenzie to leave us alond long enough to play our game.

More Day 4

Kenzie, Emma & Dustin, the black blur to the left is the dog running away from Kenzie hitting her with the remote.
Dustin in an action shot playing Wii.

Laurie just not being able to figure it out.

Playing the Wii after going to Applebee's. Again we laughed so hard. Laurie and I have no idea how to play so when we play we end up laughing and just moving our arms around hoping that eventually it will make something happen on the screen. At one point the characters were swimming and Laurie's guy was just like hanging out in the pool and Dustin has his guy like a lap ahead. Then they were fencing and Laurie won, but we can't figure out how she won. Kenzie just wouldn't get her pj's on so she just ran around taking the remotes that we were not using. We had a blast, Wii has to be one of the best games to play and laugh with and at.

Day 4 of Vacation

Laurie, Kenzie and Michele
Dustin and Emma
Wednesday we didn't really do much for vacation, it was a free day and hang out. Nick went sledding with the young men and women from church in the evening. Today, Thursday TJ and Nick went to a campout with scouts until Saturday morning. So that left Dustin and Kenzie with mom for the next couple of days. They came with me to work and Dustin had a great time with his friend Emma, they helped move the preschool rooms around, colored, played on the computer and had lunch with their moms (myself and Laurie, that's Emma's mom and my assistant and good friend). Anyway after work we went to Applebee's for dinner and these are the pictures from that time. We had a great time, Kenzie played and sat with us, it is like she couldnt decide. We also read the kids menu from cover to cover and learned all about Shrek. We laughed a lot, hopefully we laughed off all the calories that we ate!!!!

Day 2 of Vacation

Today TJ went to help out at production crew of the musical for the high school. So he was gone all day. Nick and Dustin stayed home and played video games, chilled and did the paper route. Kenzie went with me to work. After we all got home I dropped the boys off at the movies and Kenzie and I went to visit a friend. We got back a little early to pick them up so Kenzie was playing with all the machines. Here Kenzie is driving and TJ is pushing the pedals. I am not sure why he was since there was no money in the machine and they weren't really playing. but he is having fun staging pictures so i play along with him. stayed tuned for day 3 of vacation, by the way does anyone have any ideas of what to do???? haha

More Chuck E Cheese

the pictures are the wrong way, but you get the idea, kenzie is at the top of the slide and then here she is at the bottom of the slide. she did it all by herself. she looks like she is worried or scared but really she was laughing.

New Table

i am so excited. i bought this table last night and Laurie and John came over and helped us put it together. TJ actually did the table and the bench all by himself, with help from the brothers and then John put together the corner bench. Dustin made rice krispie treats at scouts so they are having a snack at the new table. It fits perfect in the corner.

Rochester Musuem & Science Center

One of the perks about working for the YMCA is each spring I usually receive invitations to visit local places to encourage me to book them for the summer field trips. They encourage you to bring your own children to see what it would be like. Last year a lazer tag facility invited us and we ended up being the only people there (i felt bad for the facility) but the boys had a great time. Any way, the science center had their open house last night, so my assistant and good friend, Laurie with her 9 year old daughter, Emma, went with myself, Kenzie and Dustin. Kenzie was a little nervous cause it was loud and she did not like some of the large things. Here are a few shots of her playing with large, real size tinker toys and a exhibit where you point the sailboat and there are fans blowing to show you how a sailboat works. She was to short so i had her sitting on the edge(that is the red part) and then she wanted to crawl across it to get the boats. It kept her happy while the older kids were in one of those rides that the doors close and you feel like you are under the water in a boat. i am trying to keep up with this a little more so that everyone can see how the family is changing. i know i have 3 other kids and i will try to take some pictures of them and put them on here also. haha

Good thing about the Hospital

One thing that happpened about the hospital stay was that the Harlem Globetrobbers (did i spell that right) were in town so one, named Buckets, came to visit the kids and show them their skills. Dustin is not that into basketball but he really enjoyed it. he was more worried about wearing his hospital shirt in front of everyone. but then when we got to the room and he saw everyone else had their hospital clothes on he was ok.

Dustin Update

Just to let everyone know that Dustin is responding well to the meds, he has not had any problems with them. he actually is still excited about taking them, he even reminds me. tonight we had to up the dose, because it is a gradual increase till he gets to the right amount and he was right there telling me. i am waiting to see how long he thinks it is fun to take meds. right now he has capsules that we break open and sprinkle over applesauce. he has tried pudding but says the applesauce is best. anyway eventually he will be able to take pills that he can swallow but i am not sure when he will feel comfortable. i want to thank everyone for their help, thoughts and prayers, it really meant alot to our family.

Hospital Visit

So here is Dustin hanging out at Strong Hospital getting an EEG on him. Let me tell you a little bit about what happened. Dustin has had februial seizures since he was 4 1/2 which means he has a seizure with a fever. since this christmas school break he has had about 6 seizures but they have not all been related to fevers. we knew something was up so we had an appt on feb 3 to see his pediatric neurologoist, i guess dustin wanted to see him sooner cause at school on thurs the 29th he has a seizure but this time it was catergorized as a grand mal seizure, which means he went blank, rigid and shoke. all this took place in the nurses office. he was taken by ambulance where i (michele) met him there, after they gave him some meds we waited for about 2 hrs before he really came out of it, then they took him in ambulance to strong childrens hopsital and admitted him on the neurology floor. they did a cat scan, an mri and the eeg. scan and mri came back fine but the eeg was abnormal more than usual for him so they diagnosed him with seizure disorder or epilepsy. it is being regulated with meds and he should be able to live a normal life. we have to have lab work done every 3 mths and then in 2 yrs they will reevaluate what is happening. so that was the excitement of the week. grandma brice (darlene) came in to help in case it was worse and to give me a break so it has been fun having her around.

dustin

ok this is almost a week later srry but here it goes last thursday still in january dustin had a seizure lasting about 2 hours and he is fine now i thought i would mention that ok well there are pictures but my mom can't email them to me so they will be here soon
